Adventure Racing Kayak Training
Is
kayaking the weakest link
in your adventure racing program? It doesn't have to be. Learning proper
paddling technique is not difficult.
We promote
a forward stroke style that incorporates the laws of physics,
coupled with ergonomics to produce an extremely efficient stroke. It’s
just what the adventure racer needs.
We use
a logical approach, defining lines and angles and using the
basic laws of physics in the hope that you will understand the reason
why you paddle in this manner. You will learn how to use your larger
muscle groups rather than your arms. Your arms, in fact, are only there
to support the paddle, not to supply power.
Your instructor, Dave Williams, has been an avid paddler
for over 32 years. He has melded the kayak distance racer’s stroke
and modified it slightly to generate a stroke that anyone should be
able to perform for many hours. You may want to take one of our standard
one-day or two-day kayak
courses.
