Southern Thailand Sailing and Kayaking Package
Tour
Now
here is a tour package designed for those of you
who wish to escape from noise, crowds and all of those things that
sometimes make day-to-day life a bit taxing.
Join us as we travel
from Tarutao National Park, one of the most stunning
natural places in Southeast Asia, world famous to Phang Nga Bay.
This 10-day tour package is the most peaceful way to explore the
watery wonders of southern Thailand. You’ll visit islands
off the beaten tourist path in style and comfort.
Koh Tarutao is the
largest island in Tarutao National Park. It is almost
entirely covered with old-growth jungle. Isolated beaches abound.
The island supports a lot of wildlife, including Wild Pig, Civets,
Monitor Lizards, Crab-eating Macaques (monkeys), Dusky Langurs (monkeys),
a variety of raptors, Hornbills and a host of other exotic birds.
You will experience the island without other seeing other tourists.
From
there, you’ll travel to the outer islands
of Tarutao National Park. These islands offer crystal-clear water,
a wide variety of marine life, plenty of birds and awesome rock
formations. Again, as we’re mobile, we’ll be able to
experience the islands they way they should be experienced—without
crowds.
Next, you’ll
journey north to visit Koh Petra. The bird’s
nest collectors work in the caves in this beautiful island. They
collect Edible Nest Swiftlet nests, which are made entirely of bird
spit… yum, yum. The north side of the island features soaring
limestone karst cliffs. Rock gardens speckle the base of the cliffs
making nice paddling conditions. You can paddle through gaps and
under overhanging rocks with ease.
Koh Liang Nua and
Koh Liang Tai (north and south Liang Islands) offer
nice snorkeling and a fishing village where very fresh seafood is
often available.
Our next stop is
to the islands of Trang Province. The west side
of Ko Kradan is pounded by the monsoon generate ocean swells. The
result is a very weathered coastline with a lot of rock gardens.
Further out to sea,
you’ll visit Koh Rok Nok and Koh Rok Nai. The water around
these islands is very clear and the rock formations are outstanding.
These islands receive a good bit of tourist traffic during the winter
months, but being mobile, this means nothing to us.
Koh
Lanta Yai lies north. This has been a popular backpacker
level destination for quite some time. This means that there is
good shopping and plenty of restaurants. Beaches are plentiful.
Our next move is
to the Phi Phi Island group. The main island in
the Phi Phi group has been devastated by unregulated tourism. The
island is dirty, smelly and crowded. However, it’s still pretty.
The good news is that the tourists haven’t messed up the whole
area. Ko Yung (Mosquito Island – don’t’ worry,
there aren’t a zillion mosquitoes there) and Ko Mai Phai (Bamboo
Island—don’t worry, the island isn’t covered with
bamboo) are wonderful islands with very clear water and very fine
sand beaches. It’s a great place to relax before heading to
Phuket.
Tropical paradise is at your fingertips.
